Today I spent some time exploring a new venture in Winnipeg.
I drove over to the Forks (tried to go a new route and ended up getting terribly lost – thank goodness for my iPad with directions!), then headed downtown to check out Market Square. Why did I go there, you ask? I wanted to see what the deal is with Culture Days.
Culture Days is an annual event that happens in several cities all across our big country. It’s a celebration of the variety of cultures and traditions that Canadians claim as part of their heritage, and invites others to join in, to experience and share them as well.
I took some pictures and am excited to share them with you, but right now I’m working on some pressing homework, and I do have to prioritize. I had to let you know about this now, though, because at this point IT’S NOT TOO LATE!!!
Culture Days takes place over a span of three days which means you still have tonight (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) to check out some of these activities and events. There are even all-night events tonight from 6 pm until 6 am tomorrow morning. Now that’s dedication to art!
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that everything for Culture Days is free! It’s the perfect thing for students, families, or any individual. Check out the Culture Days website. Also, this event features a documentary about the city’s favorite hockey team: the Winnipeg Jets.
Don’t miss out on an exciting opportunity to learn more about the cultures this city is made of, and to experience something new!
I’ll see you there.
